Award-winning Team Fox is cutting edge when it comes to hairdressing

The salon, which is on Chester Road, is the first winner in our Best of 2024 competition, where each week we search for the best Mid Cheshire has to offer in different categories.

We started with Best for Hair and we were inundated with nominations for salons all over Mid Cheshire with clients and customers telling us who they thought should make the final shortlist.

Ten top salons in Mid Cheshire made the shortlist for Best for Hair with Fox Hairdressing in Castle taking the coveted crown.

We received hundreds of votes with the winning salon recording a victory and owners Adam and Matthew couldn’t be happier.

Fox Hairdressing opened on Chester Road in Castle in October 2013 – Matthew and Adam both love Castle and currently live in Northwich.

Matthew, who is 37, said: “Fox Hairdressing is a multi award-winning hair salon and has flourished over the years, specialising in cutting, colouring and tape hair extensions.

“Adam’s biggest passion is cutting and he takes pride in the detail of his work.

“He has trained and qualified and then passed this knowledge and passion through to the Fox team.

“Our team has also gained great recognition for colour speciality, creativity and skills, which has led to Fox Hairdressing being grand finalists numerous times in the past 10 years in the prestigious Loreal Colour Trophy Awards.”

Fox Hairdressing specialises in bridal hair and has won many accolades with their designs appearing on the front covers of wedding magazines.

Adam has been working in the hairdressing industry since he was 14 and quickly realised this was going to be his chosen career path.

He started a Saturday salon job before studying at South Trafford College and was a fully qualified stylist by the age of 17.

He qualified in hairdressing before passing his driving test!

In 2008, Adam met Matt and they fell in love.

Matt was pursuing a career in marketing sales and growing an online business but Adam’s dream was always to create a salon called Fox.

Adam, who is also 37, said: “At the start there was no business plan and certainly no plan of Matt being included.

“It was simply a vision that I had, which was so clear in my head, that I would have my own salon called Fox and while it would look beautiful it would, more importantly, be warm, welcoming and inclusive.

“I didn’t want a salon where you get looked up and down as you walk through the door.

“I had a totally down to earth idea in terms of how I wanted every client visiting my salon to feel, but I also wanted to create a space that would make anyone who walked through my salon door feel special in a stylish environment.

“It was around this time that I asked Matt to be part of it all as I knew that as a people person, he would be the perfect fit.

“I knew that together we could create a great salon and something a little bit different.

“It was always going to be a huge risk for both of us giving up what we were doing and risking it all, but better to give it our everything from the start.

“Matt was soon on board with the idea and the rest is history!”

The salon offers a relaxed and welcoming space for clients

Adam and Matt took time to consider the space their team would work in and that clients would enjoy and created the perfect salon environment.

“We were totally overwhelmed and touched by all the support and love that Fox has received.
